The best chance of requests of a feature like this being seen and added is if there are a lot of requests for it on Frontier's forums, then they will see how much demand there is for it. Frontier doesn't pay attention to the Steam forums, their own moderators attest to that. The Challenge mode does return in the JWE 2, but is now substantial different as it now has it's own restrictive maps, has objectives that you have to complete, and restricts the dinosaurs and research that are available in each challenge.Īlso if you really want a freeplay mode, you should go make a thread requesting it on Frontier's forums or contribute to an already existing one (like this one ). So JWE's challenge mode is close to being a freeplay mode, but just quite isn't, as it has additional mechanic to artificially increase the challenge.

The problem with challenge mode however, is that even though it does start you off with virtually nothing, only a few basic buildings and dinosaurs, you have research and digging up/complete the genomes of other dinosaurs, it does have a mechanic in which some of your money is periodically taken away from you in increasing amounts to provide extra challenge. It seems minor but referring to something with the right term, especially in situations like this, will help make sure that everyone is on the same page.Īnyway, JWE 1 doesn't truly have a mode like that either, though it has something that's kind of similar, the Challenge mode. Well, I know this is just semantics but a mode like that is usually called a freeplay mode.
